The Exhibition
The main theme of Daejeon Biennale 2018 is ‘Bio’, stressing on the artistic and scientific identity and the signification of Daejeon as a main city of The Fourth Industrial Revolution in Korea. Bio Art is an art practice that objectifies living organism as a media of art and is a typical genre where art and science is bonded together as a new genre of art. Also it seeks for possibilities and dangerousness on the informational perspective of biology, enriches its discussion and expands on the realm of art. The exhibition will be featured under 4 categories: ‘Bio Media’, ‘Digital Biology’, ‘Desire for Athanasia’, ‘Humans in the Anthroponene’. Daejeon Biennale 2018 will provide a forum of discourse that opens various prospect in the field of Bio Art.
