Nectar: War Upon the Bees

Pratt Manhattan Gallery presents Nectar: War Upon the Bees, a visual essay centered on the way that disregard for bees and the “faster, bigger, cheaper” approach to modern food production is leading to severe consequences for human survival. Through various artistic mediums, the work of nine artists speaks to the way that bees are representative of today’s growing environmental threats and creates a rich compilation of imagery that evokes an important and socially engaged mission.

Nectar: War Upon the Bees was curated by Berta Sichel – the former Director of Media Arts at Madrid’s Museo Reina Sofia and the founder of Bureau Phi Art Projects – and will open with a reception on the evening of December 8th and run through February 11th. The featured artists include Suzanne Anker, Luis Fernando Ramirez Celis, Juan del Junco, Kelly Heaton, Marine Hugonnier, Ellie Irons and Anne Percoco, Lucía Madriz, Beth Moysés, and Carlos Schwartz.
